George Brough’s Nottingham-based company excelled at building motorcycles and T E Lawrence was famously one of Brough’s customers. The Superior label was used by Brough as he believed his products were superior to any rival. The 1935 Superior Drophead Coupe was powered by a Hudson straight 8 engine which gave this large car a 0-60 time of 10 seconds and a top speed of 90 mph – exceptional for the day and on a par with the similarly powered Railton. Coachwork was by Atcherley of Birmingham.
