Pope Pius XI had a passion for American cars and this Buick Limited was his personal choice. The Holy Father originally favored the Graham Paige of 1929, but in 1932 he ordered the acquisition of Buicks and Cadillacs for the official services. When this imposing Buick limousine arrived in the Vatican, as tradition dictated, it went to The San Damaso Court for the presentation ceremony to the Pope. The new car certainly wasn’t a disappointment. It carried dignitaries and paraded in Vatican events under the Pontificate of four Popes, coming to the end of its long career in 1966.
Brooklin Models created these models using reference from the original Vatican Limousines that have been lovingly restored to running condition. These 1:43 scale models are exclusively produced in white metal, hand spray painted and hand assembled.
These individually numbered models have been created for the VATICAN MUSEUMS and are packaged in special MUSEI VATICANI boxes.
