BROOKLIN AND THE RUBY COLLECTION
Posted by BROOKLIN MODELS
In 2014 Brooklin Models marked its 40th Anniversary by releasing four special models reflecting the history of the American styling and design, chosen by the factory to represent four decades of American automobile classics, calling them the Ruby Collection. They come in a special black leatherette box embossed in silver. The models were: BRK187X 1939 Nash Ambassador 8 Touring Sedan for the 30’s, BRK83X 1947 Ford V8 Station Wagon for the 40’s, BRK183X 1955 Chrysler Windsor Convertible for the 50’s, BRK166X 1960 Chevrolet Impala 4-Door Sport Sedan for the 60’s.
In May 2014 the 1st special was produced, a 1960 Chevrolet Impala 4-Door Sport Sedan. It is finished in ruby red metallic with light tan interior, yellow license plate and whitewall tyres. The license plate reads “Anniversary BRK166X” and a silver plate on the base says “40th Anniversary Special”. Only 290 pieces were made.
In September 2014 the 2nd special was produced, a 1955 Chrysler Windsor Convertible. It is finished in ruby red metallic with light tan interior, yellow license plate and whitewall tyres. The license plate reads “Anniversary BRK183X” and a silver plate on the base says “40th Anniversary Special”. Only 250 pieces were made.
In November 2014 the 3rd special was produced, a 1947 Ford V8 Station Wagon. It is finished in ruby red with tan interior, yellow license plate and whitewall tyres. The sides look very different from the original model because they are made of a wooden frame and dark brown adhesives for the door panels. The license plate reads “Anniversary BRK83X” and a silver plate on the base says “40th Anniversary Special”. Only 300 pieces were made.
In March 2015 the 4th special was produced, a 1939 Nash Ambassador Eight 4-door Sedan. It is finished in maroon with light tan interior, yellow license plate and whitewall tyres. A special edition of the 1961 Airstream Bambi (BRK115) was commissioned in 2014 by B.C.C. to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the club and the Brooklin 40th anniversary. It is finished in ruby red metallic to match the 40th anniversary models, with yellow license plate and whitewall tyres. Only 140 pieces were made and sold to B.C.C. members.
