BROOKLIN AND THE 1949 DESOTO STATION WAGON

CANADIAN TOY COLLECTORS SOCIETY

The C.T.C.S. utilized the 1949 Desoto Station Wagon for their 2001 special. That year was their 29th Annual Toy Show and the Desoto was their 23rd annual model. The wagon is done in a taxi livery for Topley Taxi (British Columbia) to honour Tony and Joyce Topley, who, along with John Hall and Ron Faithful, founded the C.T.C.S.. The taxi is finished in pale creamy yellow with a mid-brown interior and an ivory steering wheel. "Topley Taxi" appears on the front doors and on the sides of the roof rack, a white taxi sign with black lettering adorns the roof and white front and rear license plates read "CTCS 2001". The roof also has a roof rack to carry the four pieces of luggage included with the model. Only 275 models were built and “1 of 275” is cast in base.
